For the 2020-2021 school year, National School Bus Safety Week will be celebrated October 19-23, with the theme being: Red Light Means STOP! Due to COVID-19, our transportation personnel and bus drivers have been working extremely hard to accompany all transportation needs of students who are attending school in-person and participating in remote learning. Usually, we observe School Bus Safety Week with downloadable pictures for younger students to color, safety drills, and other programs -- and while we will still be implementing these activities, we wanted to focus our attention this coming week on being grateful to our transportation staff.

With the spike of COVID-19 cases throughout the state of Ohio in the last few weeks, we have experienced school closures and students switching from in-person to remote learning, and vice versa. Our drivers have had to regularly adjust bus routes to ensure students are getting where they need to be, when they need to be there.

Make sure to thank you bus drivers a little extra this School Bus Safety Week for all the hard work they’ve been doing to adjust to our school district’s and students’ needs throughout this difficult time.
