Virtual Reality headsets enrich learning

This past Fall semester, Ms. Hulsey’s Geography and World History classes used Virtual Reality (VR) headsets to enhance their learning. Using Google Expeditions, the Geography classes were able to visit American National Parks like Yosemite, Bryce Canyon, and Yellowstone; various geographical sites throughout Canada; and famous historical sites in Europe.

When studying World War I, the World History class was able to experience trench warfare from the viewpoint of a soldier and visit a city devastated by the war. During their study of World War II, students visited a battleship, Pearl Harbor, and Normandy. The students greatly enjoyed using the new technology and can’t wait until they can use the VR headsets for learning again instead of Zoom over their laptops!

A special thank you to River Elementary for sharing the Virtual Reality headsets with us!
