Free Breakfast and Lunch Meals

Posted on: September 14, 2020

Switzerland of Ohio Local School district has announced that they have submitted to the Ohio Department of Education for the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) extension for food services. This means that beginning Monday, September 14, all students receiving in-person education at their enrolled school will receive free breakfast and lunch meals through December 31, 2020 or until Federal dollars are depleted, whichever comes first.

Students will receive a free and nutritionally balanced grab-n-go breakfast and lunch that meets USDA guidelines. Any additional items such as ala carte, extra meals items, or extra milks will have to be paid for by the student. No charges will be accepted for additional items.

Any student, in person or remote, who may qualify for free or reduced-price meals should still complete the Free and Reduced-Meal Application found in their “Welcome Back” packet, or in their school building office, or online at www.switzerlandohschools.com under the Nutrition Services link. Staring Jan. 1 2021, the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) will expire and students will return to full pay status unless they have completed and qualify for free or reduced-price meals. By completing the application now, your child will experience a seamless transition Jan. 1, 2021.
